Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a non-surgical procedure for hair regrowth, best used for treating thinning hair and slowing or stopping the progression of hair loss. Hair loss can affect both men and women, impacting on self-esteem and causing embarrassment.
The main cause of hair loss is genetic but it can also be a result of extreme stress or a medical condition or treatment. PRP treatment can tackle male and female pattern baldness as it encourages the growth of existing hair follicles, increasing hair volume, density and fullness without surgery. It is totally natural, using your own platelets to stimulate hair growth.
Our treatment

PRP and hair transplant surgery
PRP treatment is encouraged pre and post hair transplant surgery to:
- preserve and enhance hair follicle viability after transplant
- promote and enhance tissue repair and healing after transplant
- reinvigorate dormant hair follicles and stimulate new hair growth.
The Procedure
A small volume of your blood is taken, similar to that taken at a routine blood test. It is placed into a centrifuge machine, which separates your plasma from the rest of your blood. Concentrated in the plasma are your platelets, which are cells responsible for tissue regeneration and rejuvenation
The platelet rich plasma is then injected into the scalp using a mesotherapy injector. This stimulates and reactivates the dormant of weakened hair follicles
The treatment takes an hour and there is minimal discomfort involved
Three initial treatments are recommended, with four weeks between each treatment. Thereafter a maintenance treatment is recommended every 6 months.
The treatment is not suitable if you have no hair follicles. Other factors may make the treatment unsuitable, for example, if you have had cancer treatment in the last year.
